However, I am unsure whether she finished the course, and this is the degree course to which she is referring. I doubt very much that her former singing tutor or indeed any of the tutors there would endorse that performance. There was very little 'academic' about her audition. It was self-righteous, indulgent, and an insult to those who have taken the time and effort to work at their art. But "Rachel" although singing is not a degree in itself (aside from Grades and a Teaching Diploma): I am studying for a M.A. in musical theatre which I imagine is the kind of thing that Ariel is claiming to have obtained (unless she has a singing teaching Diploma - possibly more likely). Which I think is a grade 8 in music which is the highest, I think. She would go directly to the record labels.
